Add a group of your own

• Crewed only suggests a group when it sees the same word more than once, so one-off work — a client you have shot once, a sport you worked a single weekend — never got a group to rename. There is now an "Add a group" button under the income breakdown: give it a name and the words it should match.
• It applies to the gigs you have already logged, not just new ones.

Tell Crewed which words are not a category

• Some words group your work without meaning anything — a city that covers two different teams, say. There is now a "Don't group on this" button, and those events go back to being grouped by whatever they actually have in common.
• Words you have set aside are listed under the chart. Click one to start grouping on it again.
• The list of events in each group now scrolls in place, so you can read all of them without the chart turning into a page of text.
• Fixed: hovering a slice of the income breakdown shows one tidy box again — the name once, the numbers under it, and no stray text at the end.

Name your own income groups

• Under the income breakdown on Reporting there is now a list of the groups behind it. Any group Crewed worked out for you can be renamed — call it what you call it.
• When you rename a group you also say which words belong to it, so Crewed groups the same way next time without being asked. It applies to the gigs you have already logged too, not just new ones.
• Nothing to set up. Leave it alone and the breakdown keeps grouping itself the way it does now.
• Changed your mind? Remove the grouping and those events go back to being grouped automatically.

Your income breakdown now groups by your own words

• Reporting's income breakdown used to sort your work into a fixed list of sports. If your year did not look like that list, everything landed in one grey slice called Other.
• It now reads the names you actually give your events and groups the ones that repeat. Whatever you call your work — a team, a venue, a client, a kind of shoot — that is what the chart is made of.
• Hover a slice to see the amount, the share of your year, and how many events are in it.
• Nothing to set up and nothing to tag. If your event names have nothing in common yet, the chart stays out of the way instead of showing you one empty slice.
• On the invoice detail page, the event name field is finally called "Event Name" — the form and the PDF have called it that for a while.

Rate card fill got more accurate, and out-of-town is now a checkbox

• Mark a gig as out of town and your rate card's out-of-town premium applies to every day of it. Before, there was no way to say so — the premium was being added to local days too.
• Travel days now use your card's flat travel day rate when it has one, instead of billing travel hours hourly.
• A dark day on a card that does not price dark days fills as zero, not as hours worked. Per diem still applies.
• The day fill is calculated on the server now rather than in your browser, so the numbers on the gig form are the same numbers everything else uses.
• Your rate card amounts are no longer written into the gig page itself.

Answer an availability request without leaving Crewed

• Accept, decline, or ask a question — each one emails the person who asked, under your own branding, with your address as the reply-to.
• Accepting opens a gig form already filled in from their request: company, event, one row per date, call times, position. Saving it books the gig and confirms the request.
• Pay is left blank on purpose. The budget they quoted goes in Gig Notes, so the number in your money column is always one you typed.
• Declining keeps the request and lets you pick a reason. Asking a question leaves it Pending and logs what you sent, so you can see what you have already said.
• The Reviewed status is gone — it never meant anything specific. Pending, Confirmed, Declined.
• Delete a gig that came from a request and the request goes back to Pending, so nothing claims a booking that no longer exists.

Deleting a receipt works

• The Delete link on an expense receipt now actually removes it. It never did — the link pointed at a page that did not exist, so nothing happened.
• Security: receipt deletion is now checked against who owns the expense.

Saving a contact date actually works, and forms explain themselves

• The Last Contacted date on a crewer now saves. It never did — the page said nothing and the value quietly reverted.
• When something cannot be saved, the message tells you what to fix instead of a generic apology. Missing a company or a line item now says so by name.
• Detail popups are wider and no longer tuck under the menu bar at the top of the screen.

Invoice numbering fix actually applies now

• The invoice numbering fix from the last two updates now actually takes effect. Your invoice numbers are yours alone — a number another account has used will no longer block you.

Forms really do tell you when something fails now

• The error messages promised in the last update were not actually reaching the page. They are now — if something cannot be saved, you will see why instead of being returned to an empty list.

Invoice numbering fixed, and forms tell you when something fails

• Invoice numbers are now yours alone. Previously a number could be claimed account-wide, so a number another user had already used would refuse to save. You can number your invoices however you like.
• When something cannot be saved, the page now says so. Forms used to fail silently — you would be sent back to the list with nothing created and no explanation.

The 1099/W2 tag stays next to the company name

• On the Gigs list, the 1099 or W2 tag no longer drops to a line of its own behind a long company name. It stays beside the name at every window size.
• Event names have more room and stop wrapping to two lines.
• The two date column headers are shorter — "Invoice Sent" and "Event Paid" — so the header row is no longer three lines tall.

Receipts from your camera roll, and a tidier Gigs list

• Adding a receipt on your phone opens your photo library again, not just the camera. If you already photographed the receipt earlier, you can pick it. Taking a new photo still works the same way.
• The Gigs list stops wrapping company names onto a second line just to fit the 1099 or W2 tag beside them. The columns are budgeted now, so the names get the room and the narrow columns stop hoarding it.
• Multi-day gigs show a shorter date range: 7/23-7/27/26 instead of the full date twice. A gig that runs across New Year still shows both years.

Date cells stay out of your way

• The date cells on your Gigs list work like the one on your Crewers list: just the date, with a pencil appearing when you hover. Click it, pick a date, done. No more tick and cross buttons on every row.
• Picking a date saves it straight away, and if that moves the gig along (invoice sent, or paid) the status updates itself. Press Escape if you change your mind.

The last of the odd corners

• The Report a Bug button was the last thing in Crewed still wearing the old blue gradient, and on the gig form it was sitting right on top of the Cancel button. Fixed both: it's an ink pill now, and it gets out of the way when a save bar is on screen.
• Reporting's tabs match the rest of the app. Every tab row in Crewed now looks and reads the same way, whether you're filtering a list or switching report.
• Gig, invoice, and crewer names in your lists are easier to spot: dark text with a coral underline, so the thing you click is obvious at a glance.
• Smaller cleanups: dashboard quick links and quick actions, the Settings sidebar, the calendar view buttons and weekday row, and paid rows in the tax table that had been looking greyed out when they should read as done.
• Delete buttons look like delete buttons. The one on your availability requests was identical to the buttons beside it.

One status language, everywhere

• Every status in Crewed now speaks one of six colors — quiet gray for done-and-dusted, coral for waiting-on-someone, lime for locked-in, violet for paperwork in flight, teal for money in the bank, red only when something actually needs fixing.
• Statuses you can change look like the ones you can't — same color fill for easy scanning — but wear a stronger border and a bigger arrow so you know they're tappable.
• Dropdowns match everywhere now — filters, year pickers, and export menus all wear the same clean trigger and menu style.
• Keyboard-friendly: tabbing through the app now shows a clear blue focus ring on every link and button, and several small labels got darker for easier reading.

Gig entry, start to finish in one pass

• Reimbursement adds itself up now: mileage, per diem, and billable expenses roll into your expected total automatically — the manual reimbursement box is gone.
• Log your drives first: Tracked Trips sits above the day entries, and each day's mileage fills in from its logged trips — even trips you logged before the day existed.
• Your expense list stays out of the way: attached expenses show on the gig, and a search bar pulls in any unbilled expense by name, category, or amount.
• A new Gig Notes box replaces the old reimbursement note, and the status and date fields moved into a tidy sidebar.

The gig form, reworked: everything in one flow

• A save bar rides the bottom of the gig form on desktop, showing your wages and expected total live as you type day entries — and the Save button is always in reach, no more scrolling.
• Log drives without leaving the gig: the new Tracked Trips card lists this gig's trips and adds new ones straight to your Mileage Tracker, with your Saved Places suggested as you type.
• Add expenses right on the gig form too — receipt included. They save to your Expenses page instantly and attach to the gig when you save it, on new gigs as well as existing ones.
• The form itself got a cleanup: one card per section instead of boxes inside boxes, the Status field wears the same colored tag as your gigs list, and the fine print got a lot shorter.

Saved places, clearer mileage cards, and a save bar that has your back

• Saved Places: name the addresses you drive to and from — "Home", "Downtown Studio" — on the Saved Routes page, and they'll be suggested as you type in any mileage address field. One click sets your business address as Home.
• The mileage summary cards explain themselves now: hover Reimbursed or Deductible for what each means, and the tracker/gig split lives on the cards it belongs to.
• Your shareable availability link now lives at the top of the Availability Requests page — copy it right where the requests land.
• Editing Settings shows an "Unsaved changes" bar the moment you change anything, so a tweak can't quietly get lost when you switch tabs or wander off.

Picking the right gig for an invoice

• The gig picker on a new invoice now shows each gig's dates and lists them newest first — so four gigs called "Week 2 Football" for the same company are finally telling apart.
• You can search the picker by date too: type "aug" or "2026" to narrow it down.
• Event Information is one field now, called Event Name. The old School/Organization box just repeated the company, which is already on the invoice twice.
• The Invoice Summary matches the rest of the app — no more beige panel and blue gradient bar.

Design audit: Crewers and empty companies

• A company you haven't worked yet used to show an empty chart with a $0 to $1 scale. Now it just says so, with a button to add your first gig with them.
• Last Contacted on the Crewers page reads as plain text with a small pencil — click it to pick a date. The date box on every row is gone.
• Fixed: editing a Last Contacted date in that list never actually saved. It does now.
• Phone numbers display in one consistent format everywhere, however they were typed in.
• Added a search box to the Crewers page — it matches names, companies, emails and phone numbers.

Companies that tell you something

• Every company card now shows what you've earned from them this year, what they still owe you, your average per gig, and either your next booked date with them or the last one you worked.
• A link straight to that company's paystub site sits on the card, and Email, Call and their travel site moved into the card's menu — no more opening a company just to find a phone number.
• Two filters: Active shows companies you've worked in the last year or have a gig booked with; All shows everything. Both carry counts so nothing looks like it vanished.
• Invoice PDFs now show a subtotal under your services and another under your expenses, so the grand total visibly adds up.

Receipts on your invoices

• Attach expenses to a gig, and they carry through to the invoice you generate from it — with the receipt itself included in the downloadable PDF, one per page. Your client gets the proof without you emailing it separately.
• Each attached expense has a Bill to client toggle, so you can track something against a gig for your own records without putting it on the invoice.
• Marking a gig as paid now reliably marks its invoice paid too — including invoices you built by hand on the invoice form, which previously didn't update.
• Adding a paid date or a payment amount on the gig edit form now sets the gig to Paid when you save, the same way it already did from the gigs list.
• On your phone, the invoice list leads with the gig name instead of the company — much easier to spot the one you're looking for.

Company cards that earn their space

• Your Companies page now tells you something: every card shows what you've earned from that company this year and how many gigs — the same math as your Gigs page totals, so the numbers agree.
• The filter buttons on Companies (and the date presets in Reporting) now match the tabs everywhere else.
• On Mileage, Add Mileage Entry is the one main button up top; Saved Routes moved down beside the export buttons where the secondary actions live.
• The tip banners in tax planning are easier to read — bigger text, less clutter.

Polish across the board

• The individual gig view catches up with the new look — clean bordered stat cards instead of rainbow-topped ones, and an ink Edit button.
• Every filter dropdown in the app now looks the same, and the Add New button sits at the right edge of its row on every page.
• The tax planning area got a tidy-up: consistent card borders, breathing room under its headings, and one shade of green for money in your favor — the same green everywhere.
• Small things too: stat cards line up along their tops, the expense summary box lost its odd gradient, and the dashboard's View All links match the app's link style.

Cleaner pages, clearer buttons

• The grey boxes behind your pages are gone — everything now sits cleanly on the page itself, so your lists and cards get the full width and the focus.
• List pages lost their big title bars too: the table's own ink masthead already tells you where you are, and the Add New button now sits right beside the filter tabs where your hand already is.
• One button style for main actions everywhere — the solid ink button. The last of the old gradient buttons is retired.
• The paid and pending amounts on your stat cards are back in color: paid in green, pending in coral, so you can read the split at a glance.

The call-sheet look, everywhere

• Your stat cards are now one clean design across the whole app — flat white with an ink border, a small typewriter label, and the number front and center. The rainbow gradients are gone.
• Every list — Gigs, Invoices, Expenses, Crewers — now opens with an ink masthead strip, like the header of a call sheet, showing live counts and totals for what you're looking at.
• On your phone, gig and invoice cards carry that same ink strip with the date or invoice number and the status, so the thing you scan for is always in the same place.
• Filter tabs match the new look too: the tab you're on is printed in ink, and each count sits beside its name in coral.

Crewed starts looking like Crewed

• The app is taking on the look of a production call sheet — the same identity as the Crewed site. New typefaces (Archivo for text, a monospace face for labels and numbers), warm paper tones instead of cool gray, and squared-off corners.
• Tables now read like the documents you work from: printed-style column headers, and money set in monospace so every digit lines up down the column.
• Buttons got a clear hierarchy — the main action on any screen is now a solid ink button, everything else stays quiet.
• Nothing moved and nothing works differently; this release is purely how it looks. More refinements follow.

Cards everywhere on mobile

• Invoices, Expenses, and Crewers now get the same card treatment Gigs got — no more sideways scrolling on a phone. Invoices show the number, status, company, dates, and total at a glance; Expenses put the amount and receipt link right where your thumb expects them.
• Crewer cards put a full-width Email button and Call button on every card, well away from the edit menu — so reaching out to a contact never risks tapping the wrong thing. Phone numbers are now tap-to-call.
• As before, tablets and computers keep the full tables.

Your gigs, easier to read on a phone

• The gigs list no longer asks you to scroll sideways on a phone. Each gig is now its own card: the event name and status up top, company and date underneath, pay before and after tax side by side, and the invoiced/paid dates along the bottom.
• Everything you could do in the table still works on the cards — change a status, edit a payment or date in place, select gigs to invoice together, sort and filter.
• Tablets and computers keep the full table exactly as it was.

Expense categories get their colors

• Every tax category now has its own color, and it's the same color everywhere — the badges on your expense list, the summary bars, and the charts in Reporting. Travel is always the same green; Supplies is always the same coral.
• Before, chart colors were dealt out by size, so a category could change color whenever your spending shifted. Now they hold still.
• Also in this release: bigger, easier-to-tap checkboxes on the gig and rate card forms.

Expense trackers, now in Reporting

• The stacked category bars from your Expenses page now also live on Reporting's Expenses tab, right next to the breakdown donut.
• These follow whatever date range you've picked — This Month, a quarter, a custom range — so you can see where the money went for exactly the period you're looking at.
• New "Client Paid vs Claimable Mileage" chart on the same tab: how much of your driving clients reimbursed versus what you can claim on your taxes, in miles and dollars.

Reporting, one tab at a time

• Reporting used to be one very long page — overview numbers, then quarterly taxes, tax planning, and seasonal trends all stacked underneath. Each of those now has its own tab: Overview, Income, Expenses, Companies, Taxes, and Trends.
• Taxes puts your quarterly estimates and the tax planning cards side by side, and Trends holds the seasonal analysis. One thing on screen at a time.
• Tabs remember where you are. The web address updates as you switch, so you can bookmark the Taxes tab, refresh without losing your place, or send someone a link that opens exactly where you meant.
• Changing the date range stays on the tab you're looking at instead of jumping you back to the start.

More swiping, less scrolling

• The swipeable cards from last release now cover the rest of the app on a phone: your Tax Planning cards, the Tax Planning Tips, the Key Insights on Seasonal Trends, and your Mileage summary.
• The Expense Summary by Tax Category stayed a list on purpose — its bars are sized against each other, so seeing them one at a time would defeat the point. It just got tighter, so it takes up about a third less room.

Swipe through your numbers on mobile

• On a phone, the summary cards on your dashboard, gigs list, invoices, and reporting used to stack into a tall column you had to scroll past to reach anything. They now swipe sideways instead — one flick per card, dots underneath to show where you are.
• The dashboard fits two stats per swipe, so the whole year-to-date row takes about the space of a single card. Everything below it starts that much higher up the screen.
• Nothing changed on a tablet or a computer — the cards still lay out side by side there.

Your dashboard stats are now shortcuts

• The seven numbers at the top of your dashboard are clickable. Tap Gigs to open this year's gigs, Mileage for your trips, Earned for Reporting — each one takes you straight to what it's counting.
• Outstanding and Overdue open your invoices already filtered to just those invoices, so you can go from "8 outstanding" to chasing them in one tap.
• Invoices also has a new row of filter tabs — All, Draft, Outstanding, Paid, Overdue — each showing how many are in it.

New IRS mileage rate — automatic

• The IRS raised the standard mileage rate to 76¢ per mile, effective July 1, 2026 (it was 72.5¢). Crewed now applies the right rate automatically based on the date you drove — trips before July 1 stay at 72.5¢, trips on or after July 1 use 76¢.
• Any July trips you already logged were updated to the new rate for you, unless they're already on an invoice. Billed trips are left exactly as they were sent.
• Your tax export and reports reflect both rates for 2026, so your mileage deduction is calculated correctly across the change.

Add Crewed to your home screen

• Crewed now installs to your phone like an app — its own icon, full screen, no browser bar. On iPhone, open Crewed in Safari, tap the Share button, then "Add to Home Screen."
• It holds up when your signal doesn't. On a weak connection Crewed loads instantly instead of the browser's error page, so opening it courtside or in a parking garage still works.
• Same login, same account — nothing to download from an app store.

Stronger protection for your sensitive data

• The tax IDs (EINs) and calendar connections Crewed stores are now protected by a single, rotatable encryption key.
• If a key ever needs replacing, it can be rotated and your existing data re-encrypted with no downtime and nothing to re-enter — older data always stays readable during the switch.

Mileage, end to end

• Set a per-company or per-gig mileage rate, and trips bill at the right rate automatically.
• Each gig now lists the trips logged against it — miles, rate, and whether they're billed.
• Editing an invoice? Attach any unbilled trips for that company in one click.

Mileage stays put when you edit a gig

• Editing a gig no longer unlinks the mileage trips you logged against its days. Rename a gig, tweak a day, or add a new one — your tracked trips stay tied to the right day.
• Remove a day and its trips simply detach from that day while staying on the gig, so nothing goes missing.

Your logo moves with your account

• Move your data to a new account and your business logo comes with it. Crewed copies the image into the new account, so your invoices and emails keep their branding without a re-upload.

A cleaner way to get help

• Request Support has its own page now, so you can send a ticket from anywhere in Crewed.
• The Report a Bug button sits in the corner of every page when something looks off.

Quarterly tax reminders

• Crewed emails you before each estimated-tax deadline with your current 1099 estimate, so the date never sneaks up on you.
• Turn it off anytime in Settings under Invoices & Tax.

One invoice, several gigs

• Worked a few gigs for the same client? Roll them into a single invoice. Crewed merges the pay, mileage, per diem, and billing codes, with a line for each gig.

Invoice overview

• Click any invoice to see everything in one place: subtotal, tax, reimbursements, line items, and notes, with Download PDF right in the header.

Confirmed gigs on your calendar

• Mark an event with your confirmed-gig color in Google Calendar and it shows up in Crewed as confirmed.
• Gigs now carry a Confirmed status alongside Pending, Invoiced, and Paid.

A clearer gig view

• Multi-day gigs tag each day by type (travel, prep, shoot, OT), each with its own rate and call time.
• Open a gig for a clean, read-only summary with overtime and premiums broken out, so the day rows add up.

Rate cards

• Save a client's pay structure once: a base rate plus the premiums they actually pay (OT, night, per diem, mileage).
• New gigs for that client start pre-filled, so booking a job takes a few fields instead of a blank form.

Your gigs on Google Calendar

• Crewed can add your gigs to Google Calendar for you. Turn it on in Settings and new gigs show up on your calendar without retyping anything.

Mileage tracking

• Log your drives and Crewed tracks the deductible miles for tax time.
• Link a trip to a gig and it can ride along on that gig's invoice.
